August 16th - Cleaning up the Capital Fall Campaign
2021 marks the 28th year for the Cleaning the Capital program. The program leverages corporate sponsorship and resident engagement to keep our city clean and green, and we’re grateful to all those volunteers who have participated in clean-up projects that keep our public spaces clean and enjoyable for all residents.
Cleaning the Capital Fall campaign information
This year’s Cleaning the Capital Fall campaign will proceed with registration starting August 16, for clean-up projects taking place between September 13 and October 15. Clean-up reports will be accepted until October 31. Registration forms are available to participants online at Ottawa.ca/clean or by calling 613-580-2424, extension 13458. Also online is an interactive map that will show the locations chosen for clean-ups.
Clean-up kits will include garbage bags, gloves and – while supplies last – leaf and yard waste bags, and will be made available for pick-up by registrants at one of seven City facilities across Ottawa.
As noted previously, the 2021 campaigns are proceeding on a significantly reduced budget due to the loss of title sponsorship earlier this year. Staff will promote and deliver the program within the funds available and are exploring options to sustain the program in future years. To that end, litter-pickers, safety vests and graffiti removal wipes will not be available.

Note: There is no designated Capital Clean-up Weekend during the Fall Campaign.
